Brief essay
The Three Ravens
There
are
three ravens which sat on a tree andv ery confused because they didn’t find their
breakfast yet. In a field, the three ravens looked a knight already died. One
of them said that they would
have breakfast with the died body of a knight
but underfeet of the died body of the knight, there was a hound taking care of the knight
and a hawk flown eagerly to keep of the knight. There was no one came near the knight. And then they came a doe that helped to lift up that died body then carried
him in the doe’s back and burried him in the hole made in the ground. The doe
felt exhausted and the doe then died.
Ballad of Birmingham
A
child wished to go to the downtown but her mother prohibited by the reason of downtown isv ery
dangerous.
Even though, the child tried to ask permission to her mother that she would go
with her friends.Her mother still prohibited the child. Last, mother told the
child to go to church because according to her mother, church is a
sacred place. The child listened the advice of her mother and finally dressed up
by using clothes and drawn white gloves and white shoes. Afterwards, the
child asked permission to her mother and gave a smile and her mother smiled at her, but that's
the child’s last smile. Her mother heard an explosion in the street of
Birmingham and the church. The mother surprised and looked for the child in the
building ruins, she only
found shoes of the child and didn’t find
her child.
Leda and The Swan
According to Greek Mythology, Leda is a beautiful goddess. The Swan in this poem is God of
Zeus. God of Zeus very admire of Leda and God of Zeus transform to became a swan and then embrace Leda, Leda was
very surprised. At that time Leda felt wonderful and Leda even also can’t
secede from the swan because the swan is very strong and great. This poem told about the begin of Troya war, in that moment, Helena, daughter from God
of Zeus and Leda run away with Paris, prince from King Troya. Menelaos, the King
of Sparta and Helena’s husband was very angry and he had recoursed Gods to save
Helena. Agamenmon is Menelaos brother’s chosen as war lord. Agamenmon died
because Agamenmon murdered by the boyfriend of
his wife.

ravens used rhyme aabb for example:
the one of them said
to his mate
“where shall we our
breakfast take?
“downe in yonder greenefield
there lies a knight
slain under his shield.
- This poem used figure of
speech that is simile for example:
“They as blacke”
- This poem is traditional
ballad.

of Birmingham used sense of impression
for example:
Her
eyes grew wet and wild it’s mean that the mother
was cried.
- This poem is ballad because this poem tells about
Ballad of street and church in Birmingham.

- This poem of the Leda
and the swan is sonettabecause the
total stanza is three. Each from stanza there is a 8 lines, 3 lines and last 3
lines. The total of lines is 14.
Messages from the Poem
The Three Ravens : God will send the
aid to any person who requires the aid and in whatever form of anything.
Ballad of
Birmingham : Don't judge something from
the cover, a good place or a sacred place sometimes becomes a dangerous or bad.
